The redear and bluegill bite has taken off!  This is a great time to take your kids to catch life-long memories.

Location:  The redear and bluegill have moved into the shallows close to pea gravel type banks.

Baits:  The baits that have been moving are Shelton's Bluegill bugs in black/green legs.  The biggest bags have come from Wax Worms.  It has been hard to keep them in stock!

The bass bite is getting good and you should expect to see the BASS Elites and FLW Tour put some large bags in the boats.

Location:

The bass are moving shallow.  Look for shallow cover or don't be scared of docks that provide the right cover.

Baits:

When it comes to baits, we want to provide you with what is moving and producing.  The hottest baits right now are Reaction Innovations beavers, Missile Baits D Bombs, and Zoom Lizards.  The color choices have been all over.  In Reaction Innovations, colors such as Dirty Sanchez, Hematoma, and Corn Dog have been hot.  Missile Baits in Bruiser Flash have been catching them.  And lastly, the ole staple Zoom Magnum Lizard in Green Pumpkin has brought 5 big ones in for everyone.

The catfish bite is just getting good.  As the water temps are pushing in the upper 60's the catfish are looking to spawn on the rocks.

Location:

The catfish are starting to move into the shallows.  Look for big chunk rock banks.  The mouths of bays with big chuck rock on the LBL side of the lake seem to produce all your arm and elbow can stand.

Baits:

The baits of choice have been live bait, shrimp, and Magic Bait chunks.  We have ordered the Magic Bait chunks back to back because of sales.  We offer these in many different flavors.

Crappie

Date:  May 5, 2018

Crappie fishing is not over by no means.  With the cold weather from winter lingering on, crappie are just now moving to shallows.

Location:

TVA continues to keep the water levels at summer pool.  They have been hovering around the 359.50 for the past few days.  The crappie have moved into the bushes.  A quick wading trip the other day produced some large black crappie.

  Baits:

The baits of choice have been live minnows, Bobby Garland, Jenko, and Southern Pro.  Bobby Garland in Vegas has been hot.  Jenko mermaid jigs in Watchamacallit has been the go to for the Jenko fans.  In Southern Pro, keep Pinky Shad on the hook.

When:

The best bite has been in the early morning or late evening during feeding times.  Expect a lull in the midday.
